Rules for Submitting Your Video

Here's where you submit your video to SVS! Please read the following rules before proceeding to the submission form (updated 1st November 2009):

  • If you are new to SVS, you MUST be a member of our forums before submitting your video, and your username must be the same or close to your vidder name. You must also make a post introducing yourself in our Introduce Yourself forum. The reason for this is that we are a community--we are not a site for simply giving out awards, we want vidders who submit to be a real part of SVS. We love our members and want to get to know you guys!
  • We accept a maximum of five videos per vidder each month (this does not include videos made specifically for our monthly Vidders' Challenges).
  • We accept a maximum of two videos per vidder every seven days (again, this does not include videos made specifically for our monthly Vidders' Challenges).
  • A download link is compulsory with all video submissions. If your video is submitted with only a streaming link (i.e. YouTube or Vimeo), it will not be posted until we also receive a download link. We accept download links from 2Shared, 4Shared, FileFront, MediaFire, MegaUpload and SendSpace.
  • Please note that if you choose to NOT have your video judged, then your video will automatically forfeit eligibility for the Video of the Month contest and, looking ahead, the Video of the Year tournament. It would, however, be looked at for any special awards given out, and you can change your mind later on if you decide you would like it judged.
  • Finally, clip theft is a MASSIVE no-no. This is when clips are taken from someone else's edited music video and put into your own, maybe because you don't know where to get clips yourself. However, this is still no excuse to steal material from another person's video. If your vid is reported or found to contain stolen clips, your video will be investigated by myself and the moderators. If we find that the clips HAVE been stolen, your video will be taken off the site and you will be given a warning. If it occurs again, you will be banned. Stealing clips from a video that someone else has put together and worked hard on is highly unnecessary - if you don't know where to look for the clips, PM myself or the moderators; we would much rather you ask for help than risk being banned from the site.
  • We will not post any videos that do not comply with these rules.

If you fulfill all of these criteria, please click here to proceed to the submission form!
