Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is Supernatural Video Station?
Supernatural Video Station (SVS) is a fan-made, fan-run website dedicated to archiving music videos made with Supernatural footage.
2. Whose videos are listed?
Anyone's videos are listed! As long as the videos are made with mainly Supernatural footage (at least 60-75%, and we do accept videos that crossover with other shows/movies), then they're welcome at SVS!
3. Will SVS host my video?
We don't host the videos on the site itself - we only archive the videos and their respective links. There are any number of file-hosting sites online that you can use to host your video. All we ask is that when you submit your video, you also submit it with a valid download link. This is to ensure that judging is completed swiftly and efficiently. If your video is submitted with only a streaming link, it will not be archived until we also receive a download link.
4. How do I submit my video to SVS?
To submit your Supernatural music video, simply go to our submissions page.
5. What is the award system?
The award system here at SVS is something that we deem to be an integral part of our community. It aims to reward and recognise vidders who make exceptional videos and spur on those who want to get even better than they already are. Vidding is an art form, and one that we feel should be rewarded. To read more about our award scheme, click here.
6. Are there any rules I need to know about?
- Please, no profane or explicit language in the forums. We aim to keep the site friendly to everyone, especially Supernatural's younger audience, so if you feel the need to swear, please censor yourselves.
- We will accept up to FIVE videos from a vidder in one month. Even though some vidders may have a 'back catalogue' of videos they wish to submit to the site, many other vidders will not. Someone who is churning out more than five videos a month, as a rule of thumb, will not be putting as much effort into them as someone who will spend the whole month itself making, refining and perfecting ONE video. We want to encourage our vidders to be the best they can be, hence the rule.
7. What are Vidders' Challenges?
The Vidders' Challenges run each month from the first day of the month to the last. At the beginning of each challenge, the vidders of SVS are given a prompt or plot bunny, and are given the whole of the month to make a video that centres around the prompt. At the start of the next month, all of the entries are put into polls, where the vidders of SVS vote for the video that they think best fulfills the prompt. Awards are then given to the first, second and third place videos respectively.
8. Can I enter a video into more than one Vidders' Challenge?
At this time, we are saying no. This is because we like freshness here at SVS, and even though one of your past Challenge videos may fulfil more than one Challenge prompt, we'd like you to come up with something new and exciting. However, if you have a video already archived on the site that you feel would be fitting for any given prompt and don't have the time to make a new video, you are allowed to enter it! Just send a Private Message to an active member of the SVS Staff asking for your chosen video to be entered, and it will be done for you.
Happy vidding, and welcome to SVS!
